What is SymposiumSA?
The objective of SymposiumSA is to encourage and stimulate quality research activities in the fields of accounting, finance and econometrics within South Australia. Each year, a themed symposium is held to bring together academics and interested professionals to network and discuss research work. Through its sponsors and supporters, a number of international and inter-state Invited Guests are invited to present at each Symposium. Registration is free to all staff and research students at South Australian universities, although guaranteed places will only be given to sponsoring universities.
2009 Symposium - promoting quality doctoral research
In 2009 the inaugural Symposium was held at the National Wine Centre on 19th February. The theme of the conference was on promoting quality doctoral research in the fields of accounting, finance and econometrics. PhD students had an opportunity to present their work and had it assessed and discussed by a panel of leading academics and international guest speakers. The symposium also featured a panel session providing expert opinion on what new and future research directions will likely emerge in the near and long term.
